Love Stems

Date: March 30th
 2012

Time: 6pm – 830pm (may be be 2 sessions)

Place: Ocean Acres Community Center

Cost: $6 per girl (includes patch and all supplies) ALL LEVELS

Use your artistic talent & create unique & quirky flowers out of toilet paper rolls! Take your favorite flowers home and leave one to be donated to our local nursing facilities. Let’s share our flowers with those who can use an extra smile.

International Day

Our troop will be doing Cinco De Mayo. So please do some research and cut out some pictures for your poster, Also we need ideas for a sone or skit and a snack for everyone to try. So please try and come up with some ideas.

He and Me Ball

Enjoy an evening with your special He (Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, Brother, Friend - must be an adult) and dance the night away to the music of DJ Mike! He’s can escort more than one scout. Scouts will receive a patch and He's will receive a boutonniere. Beverages will be served and snacks will be provided by troops attending. After registration, your troop will be assigned a snack to be dropped off the afternoon of the dance. This event is for girls and their date only. Leaders are not needed as each scout will have her own chaperone.

I need all Registrations by January 27th No Exceptions

Scrapbooking Event

Sunday March 18th

at 180 Dolphin Road

there will be 2 times 6 girls at each event!

Please sing up for event time( First come first served)

11am or 1 pm

please print your own pictures for this event. You can click on the pictures on the blog and right click and save to your computer. you can print at home or send them to Walmart or Costco. I will not be printing pictures for this event. I will supply 12x12 paper, stickers and glue sticks. Moms are more than welcome to stay and help their daughters journal their memories. 

Michaels and A.C. Moore are always having sales on 12x12 top loading albums. 

I will be adding as many pictures on the blog as I can in the next few weeks but I will be taking some down after the event(takes up alot of web space)

I need to know who is coming no later than March 10th.

Around the World

Girl Scouts Jersey Shore – Shore Pines Region

Date – Saturday, February 25^th, 2012

Time – 2-5 pm (set up begins at 1:00)

Cost - $3.00 per girl (includes patch, trivia game, and goody bag)

Place – Ocean Acres Community Center

Open to – all levels – Manahawkin/LBI

Travel the globe and learn different celebrations from around the world.  Each troop will have the opportunity to present a dance, song, skit, or information from their celebration for the rest of the girls to see.  Also, sample different traditional foods from each celebration/country.  A trivia game will also be offered.

To follow along with the 2012 World Thinking Day Theme, “We Save Our Planet,” we will have a collection box at the event for bottle caps that will be donated to Alliance for a Living Ocean on LBI.

Come and join us in our journey around the world!

Each troop needs:

• A sign stating the celebration and your troop info (try to stay away from the well-known holidays/celebrations, I have a list of ideas if you need one)
• Info needed – name of celebration, where celebrated, when celebrated, how celebrated, why celebrated
• A traditional food item, drink, or snack to share at event and plated to serve each troops food on. (Number of girls will be given mid-February)
• Each troop is responsible for their own paper goods, utensils, and drinks for their troop
• Each troop is also responsible to bring their own table to display their celebration
• Stamp or sticker for passports representing your celebrations (up to 2 inch x 2 inch in size) (mailing labels cut in half work great)
• If you want, you can have activity, handout, music, etc, at your table

Each troop will have up to 5 minutes to present a song, dance, skit, or information

Snacks

Dear Parents

As of our January 18^th meeting disregard the snack list. I think it will be easier if the girls bring in their own snack for the meetings. So make sure they pack an extra snack on our meeting days, I will not be bringing anything extra with me. Also have them wear their vest/sash I will be taking attendance and who is wearing their uniforms at meeting and outings. I would like to try and schedule a parent meeting soon. I will be emailing and putting it on the blog soon so keep checking the blog. Thanks Chris

Cookie Rally reminder

Dont forget if you registered for the Cookie Rally it is January 7th at 9:30 at Ocean Acres. Our troop has 10 girls registered!!! This is just a reminder because if they show up they earn their Cookie Manager Try it!!!
